Nevada UST Class A/B Operator Training
This course is designed to address the Class A and Class B underground storage tank operator-training requirements administered by the Nevada Division of Environmental Protection (NDEP). For official state guidance, visit the Nevada UST Operator Training page (https://ndep.nv.gov/land/underground-storage-tanks/operator-training).
Why This Training Matters
Nevada requires each regulated UST system or group of systems at a facility to have designated and properly trained Class A, Class B, and Class C operators. Class A operators oversee overall operation, regulatory compliance, resources, and personnel, while Class B operators implement daily operation, maintenance, and recordkeeping requirements.
This training helps operators:
• Understand Nevada and federal UST requirements
• Maintain spill, overfill, corrosion, and release-prevention equipment
• Monitor release-detection systems and required testing
• Respond appropriately to alarms, spills, and suspected releases
• Maintain operator-designation, training, and compliance records
• Understand Class C operator training and emergency-response responsibilities
Properly trained operators help protect Nevada’s soil, groundwater, and communities while reducing the risk of releases and regulatory violations.
